The function of steering power shock absorber

2023-07-31 1306

The function of the directional shock absorber is to prevent self-excited or forced oscillation of the steering wheel of the car, and to prevent brake deviation. Its principle is to use the piston orifice to create a damping effect on the throttling effect of the liquid inside the shock absorber.

The comfort of a car is closely related to its shock absorbers. If there is a problem with the shock absorber and the road surface is uneven, it will make people feel very bumpy and may cause wear on other parts. However, the shock absorber of a car does not mean that it can be permanently used. How often should a car's shock absorber be replaced as long as there is always damage during use? What is its main function?

The main function of shock absorbers is to suppress the vibration caused by spring rebound and road impact after shock absorption, damping the vibration transmitted to the vehicle body due to uneven road surface or poor driving conditions, maintaining the riding comfort of the vehicle, quickly eliminating the vibration caused by the road surface on the axle and wheels, ensuring that the wheels can land on the ground at any time, thereby ensuring the vehicle's steering and braking functions, and improving the driving safety of the vehicle.

If the shock absorber leaks oil, it will make the car ineffective in shock absorption. For example, if a unilateral shock absorber leaks oil, it can cause the side of the car to be too high and too low, causing it to run off during driving and exacerbating irregular tire wear. If the rubber on the top of the shock absorber ages and falls off, the shock absorber will collide with other parts of the car when passing through bumpy roads. The abnormal noise of the chassis is mostly due to this reason, but it may also be caused by other reasons. In addition, if the spring of the shock absorber is fatigued and softened, the shock absorption and buffering effect will be greatly reduced. This is because the shock absorber spring cannot provide greater reaction force to the vehicle, and the vehicle will sink faster than normal. Due to the inability of the shock absorber spring to completely slow down the sinking of the vehicle body, the hydraulic pressure on the shock absorber will increase, resulting in oil leakage from the shock absorber.

After driving a few kilometers on bumpy roads, touch the surface of the shock absorber with your hand. If the temperature is not very high, it indicates that some lubricating oil needs to be added. If you drive a few kilometers and find that the temperature is not very high, it means there is a shortage of fuel. If it is always cold, it indicates that there is no resistance inside the shock absorber and the shock absorber is not working properly.

2. When the car is stationary, open the luggage compartment lid, then manually press on both sides and release. If it is found that after a period of rebound, it will quickly remain stable, indicating that the shock absorber is good. After releasing it for one or two seconds, it will remain stable, indicating that the shock absorber needs to be replaced.

3. If the car suddenly stops suddenly at low speed and the vehicle shakes severely with poor comfort, it indicates that the shock absorber may have been damaged.
